His mind is made up - you're going to jail. "Get out of the car!" he shouts. He has you turn around and put your hands on the hood of the vehicle. Then he frisks you, searching for things and touching areas that only your mommy touched when you were little. When he finishes, he has you raise your hands in the air, takes one arm, and cinches a handcuff down on your wrist. He'll either cinch down tight or lightly, depending on his mood. Then he grabs your other arm, brings it around behind you and slaps on the other handcuff. Then he walks you over to the police car and opens the back door. You have two choices - either you can go in head first or feet first - either way it's awkward.
You're now in the back seat and the cuffs are binding and hurting your wrists. Besides that, because of your nerves, you desperately need a bathroom. You do everything you can to smile and settle your anxious thoughts. You start to sing songs of praise to give you strength. You're a poor singer - but it is all you know to do. As you look out the window, you see the vehicle being towed away and your wife and children standing on the street. You ask yourself, "Do we really have to do this?" Yes, you do. What is the purpose of all this discomfort? To testify of the Lord Jesus Christ. You are not to defend yourself, you are not to save yourself -
your only purpose is to testify of the One who sent you.
