Unlawful Jail Thoughts

Going to Jail It is going to sound strange, but there are things that are unlawful to think about while you are in jail. There are many things. Quit thinking about your wife, don't think about your children. You can't kiss her and you can't hug your children. Quit thinking about your job, there is nothing you can do about it. You've already lost it, if you had one. Forget about you car, there is nothing you can do about it. You should have planned before hand by providing your buddy with an extra set of keys so he could retrieve it. While you are in jail, there are many things that you are powerless to do anything about.

Do your best to get things prepared on the outside before you go to jail. Make provisions for your family to be taken care of. Set aside funds for the day you may be in jail. You don't want to call from jail and find your wife is crying, "Oh honey, we're not going to make it. There's no food and no money." No, concerns like that will work a heavy burden on your flesh. You don't want to compromise your stand because you haven't taken care of your household responsibilities.

You cannot have these concerns of the flesh while you're in jail. "Oh, I have to get out of here," you'll think. "I have things to take care of. I've lost my job and my whole house is falling apart." I've watched people do this. I've watched people who have successfully stayed in jail and made a good stand for the Lord and I have watched people who have fallen apart under the pressure. Your Lord God will find out what you are made of. You know not when your God will call on you to minister for Him. Always be prepared. You know not when your hour will come. You know not when He will want you to testify of Him. He's the One that calls on you - and He doesn't want you making excuses.

Every one's work shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

1 Corinthians 3:13
